Hear this. This is the closest thing to the truth you'll get. You wanna know how people would react when meeting themselves?
They would scream. They would scream, and close their eyes, then back off, and scream a bit more.
And it wouldn't be something lie: "AHHHHH!!!" it would be something like... "AHHHH!!! AHHHHH.... AHHHHHHHHHH!!!" They would just scream, hoping they can make it dissapear with all the screaming. And then, after a while, they'll end up in some corner, scared shitless, and THEN try to talk to him, trying to figure out a)how they got there, and b)how to get rid of them.
And that's the only reaction you'll get. Everybody would freak. I mean be realistic.

Well, Icaruss...not necassarily. I don't scream, at anything at all - so I wouldn't start screaming because I'd seen an exact replica of myself. Possible, I'd think I'd lost my head for a moment.
But not everyone - no matter how bizarre or unlikely something is - is going to scream.
The human race is strange and endlessly unique for all its handicaps and oddities.

These are all interesting responses.
I already know how I'm expecting my character to react, but then I need to find her personality first.. bear in mind that this character isn't supposed to expect anything like this, and the 'clone' is in reality, someone who just looks like her (think polyjuice potion).
I'm thinking shock (though not screaming, I don't think it suits her, and I think just standing there saying nothing would say more about her), I'm thinking confusion, and I'm thinking she's going to have to think fast if the 'clone' runs away.
What do you think?

What do you think? It sounds plausible - not too frantic but not faux-diffidence. If that makes sense? ^_^

Should be 'faux-diffident' I think... a framed or feigned lack of care?

It depends. If I was suddenly brought face to face with someone that looked exactly like me I would be very very shocked. If they were wearing exactly the same clothes as me I would be even more shocked. I don't know about screaming. I'm not a particularly ... vocal person.
If they were wearing different clothes I'd be even more freaked out, because then it would REALLY weird. I might scream then.

Oh, yeah, whoops. Because if I saw me in the same clothes I'd probably instantly assume it was some kind of reflection or some other trick. After that instant, that idea would probably fall though though. If the other me were wearing different clothes but were unmistakably me ... that would just really scare me because well, they're me, but they're not me. It would be really weird.
The only time you really see yourself as others do is in a mirror, and you're obviously alwasy wearing the same clothes as your reflection. Pictures are different, because you can remember being in that position when it was taken. I just think it would be one of those random details you notice when you shouldn't.
