Okay... these are probably R, not sure though. The first book is "CRANK" by Ellen Hopkins. The second is "Geography Club" by Brent Hartinger. The third is "faultline" by Janet Tashjian. All three books have strong language.
The first is written in poetry form, but is really a storyline. It has a lot to do with drugs and multiple personality disorder.
The second is about how hard it is to be gay, bisexual, or lesbian in high school, and how teens can come together to fight the taunting.
The third is one of my personal favorites. It is about a young comedian, who meets another seemingly perfec comedian. That is, until he begins to abuse her. She learns to let him go, yes, but not soon enough.
Each book is written very strongly and I suggest reading them.
